Created in the 19th century by an unknown French artist, the wood sculpture is located in the Salar Jung Museum in the city of Hyderabad, Telangana, India. The wooden double statue of ‘Mephistopheles and Margaretta’ features back-to-back figures of a man and a woman and is based on the two evil and good characters from one of the most popular stories of 19th century Europe — Faust
