Greenpeace UK Creates Wasteminster to Demonstrate the Trouble with Plastic Waste

This is what Greenpeace say Downing Street — Boris Johnson’s residence and office — would look like if the UK’s daily plastic waste exports were dumped there rather than being offloaded on to other countries. An average of 1.8m kg of plastic waste is being exported each day, killing wildlife, polluting waterways and disproportionately affecting communities of color. The government has made promises to reduce the environmental impact of plastic, but activists are calling for more to be done. They want to see a ban on all plastic waste exports by 2025.
