Description

The summer 2021 Design and Build internship program is operating a little differently this year due to the COVID-19 restrictions and recovery period. This year’s program will begin later to ensure the safety of all. The program will operate August 2, 2021 and conclude September 24, 2021 (8 weeks total). Work hours are M-F, 9:30am-5pm and we will be able to offer some flexibility to accommodate school schedules, but ask that interns commit to at least 25-35 hours a week for the duration of the program. In lieu of the regular stipend that we have provided in the past and to be able to offer flexibility, interns will be paid an hourly wage of $13 an hour. School credit may also be available per your school’s requirements.

Collaboratively create artworks for a professional art exhibition this summer at The Museum of Outdoor Arts' indoor gallery. MOA is seeking up to 8 interns for summer of 2021 (August 2 -September 24) to work under the direction of our Design and Build Fellow artist. Participants will have an opportunity to collaboratively create a body of work for MOA’s main indoor gallery. The 2021 project includes creating a temporary multi-media based exhibition at the MOA indoor gallery under the theme of "fantasy." MOA will host a reception opening on September 24th and the exhibition will be on public view through the remainder of 2021.

From concept development, proposal review, materials procurement, timeline and budget management, to creation and installation, this immersive 8-week program will provide interns the opportunity to participate completely in the art making process. Participants will be working indoors at our headquarters studio in Englewood. All materials and tools will be provided by MOA. Open to undergrads, graduate bound and emerging artists (Recently graduates within 2 years of graduation are eligible to apply).

Applicants with sculpture, installation, multi-media, painting, drawing, digital media, arduino and other tech, projection mapping and/or animation experience are strongly encouraged to apply for the summer 2021 internship opportunity, as these skillsets will be combined to create a dynamic range of projects for exhibition.
