Brief Posting Description:
Support overall marketing communications and brand efforts of our cooperative. Responsible for managing communications and marketing programs, content creation and providing strategic communications input towards the development of marketing communications plans and brand management initiatives.

NOTE: There is one position available and this position will be filled at either the Marketing Communication and Brand Strategist II (Job grade NB18), or the Senior Marketing Communication and Brand Strategist (Job grade NB20). This decision will be based on the qualifications and experience of the selected candidate and Tri-State business needs at the time of hire.

Senior Marketing Communication and Brand Strategist
Hiring Salary Range: $74,300-$92,900

Marketing Communication and Brand Strategist II
Hiring Salary Range: $61,400-$76,800

Actual compensation offer to candidate may vary outside of the posted hiring range based upon work experience, education, and/or skill level.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Strong written communications skills to serve as copywriter for all external communications channels including marketing/advertising materials and collateral, video, print, radio and digital media (including blog, resource article content, web, social, etc.).
Manage, place and track marketing and communications programs including, but not limited to, promotions, sponsorships, member programs and advertising.
Supports brand initiatives including implementation across our cooperative ensuring a consistent brand voice is in place.
Develop creative concepts to support marketing communications campaigns and brand initiatives.
Manage Tri-State digital properties including social media and our corporate website including content development, advertising and updates ensuring properties are best-in-class.
Work in tandem with the creative services team to develop highly engaging and creative multimedia and graphic content for campaigns and collateral.
Analyze key analytics, metrics and KPIs to optimize campaign strategies to hit key goals and report campaign performance.
Manage paid media plans including revisions, execution, reporting, campaign effectiveness measurement, optimization and invoice reconciliation.
Collaborates with and supports the communications needs of our members through the Communications Advisory Council.
Actively seek out information on emerging media and digital trends and how to incorporate new ideas into business objectives.
Plan, manage and execute corporate and member events and sponsorships.
Attend and represent Tri-State at events and member cooperative meetings when appropriate including occasional nights and weekends.
Adhere to and demonstrate compliance with appropriate electric utility industry regulatory requirements. Attain knowledge and remain knowledgeable of development in regulations, laws, standards and best practices applicable to the functional area including, but not limited to, Standards of Conduct, Environmental, Employment Law, NERC Reliability Standards and Safety. Must be familiar with, and comply with, all aspects of Corporate Policy C-54, Compliance.

REQUIRED JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Training
Bachelors degree in marketing, communications or related field, or the equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.

Knowledge, Skills, and Ability:
Computer proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite.
Proficiency working with project management software.
Must possess exceptional attention to detail, effective verbal and visual communication skills as well as an overall confident and competent presence.
Confident public speaker.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
Strong people skills and the ability to communicate to a variety of audiences.
Ability to develop and maintain effective working relations.
Ability to give and receive direction and/or critique.

Experience:
Five (5) years of marketing communications and brand experience. Note: Those with less experience will be hired at the Marketing Communication and Brand Strategist II job grade level, as appropriate.
Experience developing, implementing and evaluating marketing communications programs and campaigns.

Other:
Ability and willingness to travel up to 20%, including overnight travel.

DESIRED JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Masters in communications, marketing or related field.
In-depth knowledge of the creative process from start to finish.
Previous agency experience.
