There have been no shortcuts in acquiring what I bring to the adverting industry: I’ve been told I’m a statistical anomaly. It was a long and unlikely path, which included honorable discharge from combat after debilitating injury, which led me to becoming the first person in my lineage to enter a college classroom. A first-person cultural understanding of an intersection of underrepresented identities - American Indian, first-generation college graduate, and veteran - has afforded me skills and experiences that complement those I've gained as a creative, as well as a uniquely diverse perspective to contribute to a 21st-century advertising community.
