When Crowdsourcing Goes Horribly Wrong

By The Denver Egotist / / Not sure whether to laugh at the brand or cry for the people who came up with the idea, but Mountain Dew’s promotion to allow consumers to name their new flavor (“with green apple attitude”) has been railroaded by pranksters — resulting in some extremely offensive names as top contenders. Some of the names currently in the mix include Diabeetus, Moist Nugget, Gushin’ Granny, Cumsplosion and Hitler Did Nothing Wrong. It appears the Dew has removed the list of names and voting mechanism in a desperate attempt to save face. Either 4chan or Reddit is responsible for the prank. Wakes you wary of these ideas, don’t it? Via
