The Denver 50: 2009 Call-for-Entries

By / /

The New Denver Ad Club fired up its annual call-for-entries for the 2009 Denver 50 show yesterday. Now in its third year, the show rewards the 50 best ideas in Colorado. No trophies. No entering one piece of work in nineteen categories. No awards for spec that never ran. This show is about real IDEAS.

The pieces developed to promote the show dramatize a brainstorming session with creatives in which they’re coming up with crazy ideas to solve a problem. So far, a poster has been released that depicts a session answering the question, ‘What if you could go to church without actually going to church?’

Art Direction: Jeff Mason, Hero Design Studio
Design & Illustration: Shaw Nielsen, Hero Design Studio
Copywriting: Brian Wilkens, Integer

With the call-for-entries launch, also came the announcement of some very impressive judges for the show this year.

Steve Simpson
Creative Director and one of the “Ps” and at GS&P, Goodby Silverstein & Partners.

Joe Duffy
Founder of Duffy & Partners, an agency that integrates advertising, branding and design in totally new ways.

Rick Boyko
As managing director of VCU Ad Center and former CCO of O&M, calling Rick an advertising legend is an understatement — he’s more like a sage or a sensei of an ad dojo.

John Vitro
One of the most well respected art director/ECDs in the industry, John Vitro is partner and ECD at VirtoRobertson. They’ve been slaying it as one of the biggest, smartest small agencies around.

The entry deadline is September 10, 2009 by 6 P.M. Get your best work in.
