A Very Worrying Sign Of The Times

By / /

We did a quick search on Creative Hotlist, usually a great jobs resource, for open positions here in Colorado. This is what we got back. Ouch.

Then we tried Monster for Copywriter…

and Art Director…
Two here. Both suck.

So, before you get cocky and quit your job (if you have one) make sure you’ve got a solid plan of action. Right now, jobs are pretty damned scarce in this town.

However, (and excuse the self-promotion) we do have jobs here at TDE and we continue to get them. If you’re hiring and thinking of posting a position with someone else, just search “Denver advertising jobs” or “Denver design jobs” or “Denver interactive jobs” in Google and you’ll see we pop up at the top of the list. This is where the candidates are looking.

It’s been bad for awhile now. It’s been really bad for those that have less than 5+ years experience – I think I’ve seen less than 10 job openings in the past year for juniors like myself. It’s hard to keep talent in this state when there’s no opportunities besides working for $10-15/hr on craigslist.

Not looking for a job at the moment, but do have a question for increasing “skill-sets:” what Denver/metro area colleges have good graduate level copywriting classes? Looking for some “continuing education.”
