Beer Brands Hack Into the Archives

It’s interesting to see how brands are reacting to the pandemic from an advertising perspective — especially beer brands, which seem to be trying to recreate a bygone era of great commercials. Unfortunately, without the talent associated with those campaigns coming along for the ride, they’re leaving a pretty watery taste in our mouths.

Take a look at Bud Light’s in-house agency, known as draftLine, trying to recapture DDB Chicago’s “Real Men of Genius;” adam&eveDDB New York and Miller High Life trying to rekindle the magic of Wieden+Kennedy’s “High Life Man;” and Budweiser reviving DDB’s “Whassup?” — all for the lockdown era. Yep, you see what we mean.
