There’s simply no debating that Legwork, for many years, set the bar that the rest of us hoped to reach. We always looked forward to seeing their work because it contained a level of intelligence and creativity that the majority of marketing sorely lacks. They worked side by side with many of the best agencies and clients in the country and consistently crushed expectations. They leave us with one final reel, a goodbye microsite and the note below. Good luck in the next phase, crew.
Dear party animals,
For the past twelve years we’ve been crushing beers, slapping hi-fives, and pushing ourselves to make the best work out. Legwork was born from our need to create, grow, and change what we thought a studio could be. Our inspiration didn’t come from other agencies, but from the independent spirit of subcultures like punk rock and skateboarding. This made us scrappy and nimble, cutting out the red tape so we could focus on what mattered to us most, the creativity. Each of us (six partners in all) brought a unique skill-set to the team, but more importantly a drive to always do better, take risks, and never stop learning.
Everything changes, people grow, and the industry flows in all directions. Because of these factors, and before we lose sight of what the authentic Legwork was and is, we’ve decided to shut it down. We’ve achieved everything we set out to do and more with Legwork. And while we know we could push it further, we feel now is the time for change. We’re doing this with no debts and no vendors or freelancers left in the lurch. We gave each client and employee plenty of advance notice and even finished a few projects after the majority of the team was gone. We are immensely grateful for all of you near and far that have been with us on the ride. Thank you for all of your support!
To our staff (aka BFF’s), you are the best of the best. Thank you for being a part of this. We could not have done it without you. Love you!
