As Public Relations Account Manager, you will be responsible for managing the comprehensive PR needs of ROOT Marketing & PR’s exciting clients. This includes, but is not limited to: client relationship management, formulating pitch ideas, copywriting, writing and disseminating press releases, coordinating and staffing media events, maintaining monthly client PR calendars, tracking and reporting, and managing and growing relationships with local and national media.

You will help identify potential clients and assisting in client acquisition as needed. You will also help identify any current client’s needs and secure additional business accordingly. You will disseminate project and reporting tasks to the ROOT Account Coordinator/Administrative Assistant and work directly with Founder Kuvy Ax on project approval. As such, you are expected to have a deep understanding of each clients’ bottom-line goals and objectives.

You’re on top of the latest food & lifestyle trends and enthusiastic to leverage those trends with your clients. You have a deep love for networking and are highly social in nature. You long to work with restaurant and natural food businesses. You enjoy working as part of a growing team but also work well independently.

Typical Public Relations Account Manager duties include:

• Act as the main point of contact throughout the client’s lifecycle: proposals and pitching, define success plan with clear deliverables, execute PR activities, reporting
• Gain and maintain deep familiarity with the client's product, services, competition, and PR needs
• Effectively align, track, and evolve client goals
• Identify when outside contractors are needed, such as for photography, then obtain approval and project manage through execution
• Write and send press releases to key local and national media
• Plan, manage and staff client media events
• Manage client PR calendars and RSVP lists
• Develop new relationships and maintain existing ones with media and key people in the industry as resources for the agency and clients
• Set up meetings with clients and other agency staff
• Disseminate and manage projects with the Account Coordinator/Administrative Assistant for tracking media hits, reporting, creating custom PR contact lists, and other client projects
• Manage and monitor the effectiveness of campaigns through regular check-ins and end of month reporting
• Deliver an exceptional client experience with proactive communication
• Accountable for client’s overall success
• Proactive thinking to help identify opportunities and help position us as strategic partner
• Close the loop on assignments and notify Kuvy when action items are complete

Qualifications include:

• Minimum of 3-5 years PR experience required
• Prior agency experience strongly preferred
• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or similar field strongly preferred
• Familiarity with Cision
• Positive outlook and go-getter attitude
• Knowledge of the food industry, particularly restaurants and/or natural food brands
• Knowledge of sustainability in foor and/or agriculture
• Excellent communication and copywriting skills
• High level of organization and attention to detail
• Ability to juggle multiple clients simultaneously
• Ability to work in a small, entrepreneurial culture
• Ability to work remotely and independently
• Ability to remain flexible
• Self-motivated with exceptional time management skills
• Strong work ethic
• Professional conduct within and outside the agency
• Proficient with Google Drive, Google Calendars, Cision, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
