Creative Director
Sounds True, an independently owned multimedia publisher focused on producing books, audio programs, and online courses & events focused on waking up the world, is seeking a full-time Creative Director with a Copywriting background to join our team in our Louisville, Colorado offices.
In partnership with the ECD, The Creative Director will guide and cultivate the brand “big picture,” connecting the dots between media, channels, disciplines, and internal teams, in order to create meaningful and ongoing connections with our customers. They will oversee a team of designers and copywriters to establish and implement a comprehensive vision and messaging strategy for the Sounds True brand and products. Working with the Director of Content Production, the Creative Director will keep the Art & Copy teams in close collaboration with Audio & Video.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Own creative decisions for the Art & Copy teams, representing voice and brand to ensure a unified design, tone, and voice for Sounds True
• Oversee the creative process, helping to direct content strategy and give guidance to the writers/designers to continually elevate our brand.
• In partnership with the ECD and Director of Content Production, map out future plans for the brand and push creative thinking to new heights, pursuing innovation
• Foster effective and provocative communications
• Collaborate with marketing teams on messaging strategies
• Contribute to brainstorming and creative brief development
• In partnership with PMO and Project Ops, determine and assign creative teams (writer/designers) to projects and oversee all Art & Copy collateral coming out of the department
• Apply creative consistency across channels
• Oversee deliverables, timelines, efficiencies, and budgets for Art & Copy teams
• Hire and manage all designers, art directors, visual designers, production artists, and copywriters
• Monitor marketing/advertising trends, technologies, cultural relevancies and implement learnings where appropriate
• Assess training needs and monitor team’s development and growth
• Lead the Art & Copy teams with heart, clarity, and care putting the people first and inspiring the team to be their best selves.
• In partnership with the ECD, an ever-curious and strong drive to be a great leader is a must. Always learning and growing from the inside-out.

EXPERIENCE
• 5+ years of experience managing a creative team
• Strong background in storytelling, with extensive experience as a copywriter
• Ample experience developing brands, growing team members, and working in harmony with other departments and clients
• An impressive portfolio of work displaying innovative conceptual work, sound content strategy, and strong copywriting
• Proven success managing creative teams
• Knowledge of web design processes and the publishing industry a plus
