Gary Community Investments seeks a full-time Senior Producer of Video & Multimedia to join our Communications team.

The Communications team creates, maintains and expands message narratives and content to engage internal staff, partners, co-investors and the broader community to illustrate the value and impact of Gary Community Investments’ work leveraging business, policy and philanthropy to break down barriers that inhibit opportunity for Colorado’s kids and families. Through our branding, storytelling, creative content and media engagement, we aim to inspire people, platforms and programs to join us in co-creating breakthrough solutions that will increase opportunity for Colorado kids and families.

The Senior Producer of Video & Multimedia will take part in the conceptualization of content, and will often take a lead role in the creation of content in the categories outlined below:
Day-to-day, multi-platform content that keeps our brand top-of-mind among relevant audiences, utilizing written content, vignette video, designed imagery, still photography and basic motion graphics.
Bigger storytelling capable of driving needed behavior change among larger audiences, including short- and feature-length documentaries, podcast storytelling, whitepapers and livestream content.

Reporting to and working in tandem with the Director of Communications & Storytelling, the Senior Producer of Video & Multimedia will be responsible for developing and executing ambitious, audience-centric video and multimedia projects that bring the organization’s refreshed brand, mission and impact to life, and achieve specific organizational goals. The role will require hands-on media production — with a focus on visual and audio storytelling — that delivers compelling content capable of illustrating Gary’s impact to a wide range of audiences across on- and off-line communications channels.

Responsibilities:
Principal responsibilities include executing innovative and compelling video and multimedia projects that capture and illustrate Gary’s evolving story of impact, and building capacity among our team of internal and contract media professionals
Bring forth compelling narratives designed to extend our reach and deepen our engagement with current and prospective staff, grantees, partners, co-investors and community leaders
Deliver content that features a diverse representation of voices, is calibrated to Gary’s outcome areas as our story evolves, and is capable of being inserted into campaign and storytelling strategies aiming to reach specific audiences and achieve specific outcomes
Provide creative direction and tactical execution on a wide range of content deliverables, including but not limited to video, audio, social media, graphic design, motion graphics, still photography, etc.
Build and manage our inventory of video and multimedia production gear and assets, including the design and purchase of a cinematography and photography ecosystem, audio and lighting equipment, editing software, asset management system, etc.
Leverage existing relationships and help us build new partnerships with video and multimedia production contractors and vendors, and work with them and the Communications team to direct and produce high-quality video, digital, social media and print content
Support the Communications team cultivate a storytelling culture by training and enabling Gary staff in video and multimedia production best practices
Take direction from our Communications team, and bring a customer service-like approach to assisting our Strategic Philanthropy and Policy team, Impact Investing team, grantees and other key partners with the execution of their visions in a way that drives needed community impacts
Support brand and communications needs of Gary Community investments’ special build projects like COVIDCheck Colorado, and other duties as assigned

Experience & Qualifications:
5+ years professional experience in developing, capturing and producing compelling, effective video and multimedia content
Post-secondary degree in video production, art, English, marketing, communications, journalism, creative writing or related field (or equivalent in training and professional experience)
Must be a video production expert with manual cinematography essential skills, including focus, exposure, composition, color, etc.
Well-rounded skill set – technical skills required in video and multimedia content production, post-production/editing as well as graphic design and motion design
Understanding of and ability to communicate technical video specifications and requirements to partners, including codec, resolution, bit rates, frame rates, etc.
Master of all Adobe Creative Cloud applications, including After Effects, with some color correction skills preferred
Experience with creating, exporting and publishing media content across a variety of channels (digital, social media, mobile, broadcast, etc.)
Highly capable still photographer
Familiarity with one or more production gear ecosystem (Sony, Canon, Blackmagic, etc.) and the ability to compare and contrast them for usage in both cinematography and still photography
Ability to implement, organize and maintain an intuitive digital asset management system
Varied teamwork skills required, including abilities to write, produce and direct
Must be willing to take direction and must possess a curious, humble and pragmatic nature – open to working jobs in every step of the video and multimedia production process; willing to raise your hand and problem solve; capable of being a team of one; equally inspired by big, polished projects as well as run-and-gun, quick-and-dirty projects
Interested in ongoing technical and tradecraft development
Experience with building and/or growing a bench of media contractors and leading production and post-production teams
Must be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
Capable of establishing and achieving goals during times of ambiguity and organizational change
