Salary Range: $23.03 - $32.24
Hiring Range: $23.03 - $26.75

Job Summary:

This position conceptualizes and executes visual communication solutions that support the branding, communication, marketing and advertising efforts of the City of Greeley. This role contributes to the development and creation of high-level strategic concepts necessary to execute print and digital visual communication. This position serves as a resource and industry champion for incorporating graphic design best practices and industry trends in to the work environment.

EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

Bachelor’s degree gained through a four-year college/university academic program or specialized technical training of equivalent length in the field of Graphic Design or a related field.

3-5 years experience in graphic design

Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator required.

Proficiency in Adobe After Effects, Animate and Spark platforms preferred

A strong understanding of printing methods, print production and preparation of files for digital and offset printing is necessary.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Strong customer service skills and diplomacy.

Experience with Microsoft Office products.

Operate standard and large format printers, copier and scanner.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Conceptualize, present and deliver print and digital designs for strategic marketing campaigns. Create highly compelling marketing collateral such as print advertising (ads, billboards), digital media illustrations, brochures, promotional posters and flyers, stationery, signage, and other graphic communications.

Establish relationships with departments to foster efficient communications and delivery of graphic needs.

Utilize strong verbal and written skills throughout the design process with the client to ensure smooth communications and exchange of ideas and design drafts.

Deliver creative materials that uphold the City's brand standards through consistent and cohesive representation of the COG brand.

Work with clients to monitor and uphold brand compliance (use and representation) of COG brand and others as needed.

Contributes to brand development and implementation for all city departments and divisions.

Upholds brand standards by remaining fully informed of standards and taking personal accountability for execution.

Provide special event support on an as-needed basis in the form of setup and breakdown, community engagement of booth or table, and photography.

As a member of the Communication & Engagement Department, this position actively engages and participates in city-wide strategic initiatives including but not limited to image campaign and engagement initiatives.

Be able to translate complex messaging into simple and easy to understand print and digital collateral.

Have the ability to design in various styles and demonstrate a high level of creativity.

Have the ability to assess client problems and design graphic solutions.

Take the initiative to manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously within set time frames that may have competing demands.

Be able to receive and respond to feedback and creative direction in order to meet client expectations.

Be comfortable with face-to-face outreach at public meetings and events.

Follow graphic design industry best practices.
