Junior Web Developer

AOR’s Junior Web Developer is a member of the digital team and an integral part of strategy concerning website development and maintenance. On a day-to-day basis, they are active in web projects and responsible for completing projects on time and on budget. They will be responsible for maintaining the health and usability of websites, best coding practices, a sustained knowledge base around the current web and front-end practices, and problem-solving individual client requests and/or concerns. They must be timely, detail-oriented, and a team player, with the main focus of developing a product that will satisfy both our clients and their users.

Position Requirements:
Minimum 2 years of WordPress-specific website development experience

Overall Role:
-Work closely with the digital team to develop and maintain client websites
-Continually grow knowledge with web development features, current, and new standards
-Conceptual and experiential knowledge of all things front-end (JS, CSS)
-Works with account and new business to handle client requests, run monthly website audits and implement optimizations

Job Responsibilities:
-Intermediate knowledge of WordPress specifically using Advanced Custom Fields and custom post types
-Conceptual and experiential knowledge of all things front-end (JS, CSS), workflow and performance
-Work closely with designers and other developers to convert Sketch files into custom WordPress themes using Advanced Custom Fields and custom post types
-Populate website content and client newsletters
-Perform browser and device testing on sites prior to launch
-Perform monthly website health, usability and accessibility audits and implementations
-Test, diagnose, and fix site speed issues
-Test, diagnose, and fix accessibility issues
-Participate in monthly website maintenance meetings
-Problem solve bugs and issues with clients’ websites
-Demonstrate basic knowledge of current SEO best practices
-Communicate advanced technologies clearly and effectively to clients and team members with varying levels of expertise
-Seek to develop and master programming skills with a continuous-improvement mindset
-Remain up to date with ADA regulations and requirements
-Deliver tasks on time and on budget
-Maintain an accurate track of daily tasks and hours worked, and submit into Workamajig by the designated time

Reports To:
Digital Director

Salary Range:
$65,000 - $75,000 base annual salary
*Salary will be based on previous experience.

Position Specifics:
This is a full-time salaried position that holds an approximate 40-hour workweek, though may require additional hours from time to time.
