Art Director

We’re looking for an experienced Art Director to play a key role in our creative department and continue to elevate our work. You’ll be responsible for concepting, direction, and execution of branding, advertising, digital, and other creative solutions. We’re looking for someone with superior conceptual and design skills in traditional and digital media and the ability to present work, and collaborate with writers and other team members. Responsibilities (including, but not limited to):
-Concept and execute thoughtful and strategic creative on a consistently high level.
-Generate clear ideas and concepts in tandem with copywriters.
-Understand marketing initiatives, strategic positioning, and target audience.
-Take work from concept to final execution within deadlines.
-Oversee the work of designers, interns and freelancers and provide art direction and critique on projects
-Participate in client Discovery sessions to better understand client needs and interpret these needs to the greater creative team throughout the design process.
-Participate in and lead visual discussion in client presentations.
-Present completed ideas to clients and team members.
-Be hands-on in designing a variety of creative projects on a consistent basis.
-Produce sketches, design for motion graphics, develop storyboards, and art direct different types of video projects from live action to animation.
-Perform client brand audits and develop recommendations.
-Design and write brand guides for branding projects.
-Engage in any personal development necessary to stay current in design and branding industry trends, developments, techniques and standards, and research activity required to become more familiar with clients’ businesses.
-Stay on top of all trends and maintain best practices.
-Examine and approve finished art and conceptual material.
-Determine specs and develop digital and physical mockups for print projects.
-Oversee print-production, vendor pre-press and press proofs, press checks, die-checks.
-Maintain an accurate track of daily tasks and hours worked.

Qualifications:
-An obvious passion for design.
-Demonstrable graphic design skills.
-Team player with strong and engaging communication and presentation skills.
-An exceptional book displaying ingenious and strategic concepts that solved client problems.
-Hands on experience with logo design, typography, color, web layout design, print production, image selection.
-Expert use of InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator.
-Flexibility and adaptability.
-A problem solver.
-Able to perform in a fast-paced environment with multiple projects.
-Ability to articulate and receive feedback and take/give direction well.

Really Nice-to-Haves:
-Experience with web design, UI/UX best practices and use of Sketch and Invision.
-Knowledgeable in SEO, accessibility and custom Wordpress theming using page builders.
-Experience with After Effects and Premiere

Reports To:
Associate Creative Director

Salary Range:
Salary range $70K-$80K
*Salary will be based on previous experience.

Position Requirements/ Options:
This is a full-time salaried position that holds an approximate 40-hour workweek. We are open to fully remote candidates and/or a contract-to-hire option.
