The Role

We are looking for a positive, self-motivated and resourceful leader to join our agency as a Director of Production. This individual with a “can do” attitude has overall responsibility for initiating and leading all client production efforts at Amélie. This position works closely with all agency personnel in determining project scope, estimating, planning, executing and monitoring projects and deliverables.
This position reports to the agency creative lead.
Primary Responsibilities
● Manage internal project production and other outside production partners
● Define project scopes, estimates, and technical specifications
● Negotiate production costs with vendors through the bidding process
● Coordinate POs and timely delivery of files to media partners, printers and other production partners
● Coordinate timely receipt of finished work and accurate invoicing
● Overall responsibility for quality control of work output
● Lead, manage, mentor and motivate internal project management and production team
● Collaborate with teams on strategies/tactics to best support client production needs
● Coordinate internal creative and production resourcing and scheduling of work
● Discover and improve current forecasting system to guarantee the best creative team solution for each project and manage freelancing work when needed
● Sell internal media production capabilities such as video, audio, and photography materials
● Develop and/or oversee appropriate budgets, work plans, and schedules
● Manage client projects from start to finish, ensuring successful project completion against budgets and timelines
● Champion internal systems and processes to find efficiencies while maintaining creative integrity of the product
● Pull and present efficiency reports of creative/production teams to leadership team
● Work with creative and media department to obtain technical and production specifications for advertising units
● Determine project risk on an ongoing basis, escalating issues as needed
● Research specialty items and purchases for clients
● Manage stock photography partnerships, licensing agreements and digital assets

Requirements:
● Bachelor’s degree in marketing, advertising, journalism or production
● Bachelor’s degree in marketing, advertising, journalism or production
● Minimum of 10 years of experience as an agency producer with a background in project management and leading a team
● Expertise in executing campaigns and content creation across multiple platforms and channels, including: digital, social, video/broadcast, ambient/experiential, radio, print and post production
● Experience working with clients, internal agency resources and vendor partners to develop and negotiate project scopes, schedules, and budgets
● Knowledge of broadcast/video production, post production, and ambient or large-scale productions
● Excellent project management capabilities
● Strong network of production resources and vendors, both local and nationally for a full spectrum of production disciplines
● Ability to self-manage while managing teams and projects under tight deadlines with good eye for detail and a strong sense of personal responsibility
● Excellent organizational skills and ability to multi-task
● Experience working with creative teams on producing, problem-solving and elevating creative ideas
● Knowledge of social content development, digital content production and/or web app design/development a plus
● Experience with Function Point software, Smartsheet and/or Basecamp a plus
