Job Summary:
We are seeking a Front-End Web Development and UI Designer to build new client websites and customize themes on the WordPress platform and Visual Composer. This position requires a combination of programming skills such as, PHP, HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript, and good understanding of design principles: Screen, color, typography, UI, and etc... The candidate should have a strong understanding of industry trends and content management systems. Experience with responsive and adaptive design is strongly preferred. An understanding of the entire web development process, including design, development, and deployment is also strongly preferred.
Primary Responsibilities:
Develop and design websites for new clients
Maintain multiple existing client websites and handle client requests as needed
Ability to convert comprehensive layout and wireframes into working HTML/CSS pages
Ensuring high-performance and availability to manage all technical aspects
of the WordPress/CMS platform
Test, troubleshoot and ensure cross-browser compatibility and proper functionality for all EnerCom’s clients websites
Ability to multitask and prioritize multiple projects and deadlines
Maintain WordPress plugins and widgets (Installation, updating, best practices, etc)
Serve as an expert front-end development/UI consultant and resource for the EnerCom team and its clients.
Ability to communicate and interact professionally and effectively with coworkers and clients, and demonstrate a dedication to customer-centric support and service.
Skills & Qualifications:
Expert level understanding of HTML/CSS
Strong understanding of PHP backend development / JQuery/Javascript
Knowledge of Hosting platforms, C-Panel, FTP, and the ability to migrate WordPress sites from one LAMP stack hosting platform to another
Basic understanding of DNS records as it relates to web hosting
Comfortable working with debugging tools like Firebug, Chrome inspector, etc.
Ability to understand CSS changes and their ramifications to ensure consistent style across platforms and browsers
Ability to multitask and prioritize multiple projects and deadlines.
Familiar with version control (GitHub, Subversion, etc.)
Knowledge and understanding SEO & Best practices for Search Engines
Expert-level skills in web design tools and applications, including those found in the Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Fireworks)
Strong understanding of the basic principles of brand marketing and communications.
Ability to work quickly and independently, exercise excellent judgment and maintain a desire to succeed and continue to grow.
Job Requirements/Education/Certifications:
Two to four years of experience as a Full Stack Front End Developer (HTML5/CSS3, PHP, JavaScript, JQuery) and user interface design experience.
Degree in web development related field, or equivalent experience
Great to haves:
Experience working with AWS Server Environments Shell scripting knowledge. Google Analytics WPEngine. MySQL. Subscription sites and paywalls.
