Position Summary 

The Engagement Marketing team within the University of Denver’s Advancement division is seeking a driven and talented videographer to fill the position of Video Production Manager. Reporting to the Associate Director of Creative Services & Web Development, this role will support videography and photography needs for Advancement campaigns targeting our alumni, donor, parent, and student audiences throughout the year. This will include event recap and promo videos, honoree features, student, faculty, donor and alumni interviews, and more. The manager will be responsible for all stages of production including storyboarding, scheduling, shooting (including interviewing when needed), and all post-production needs.

Candidates for this position must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with many ongoing projects and competing deadlines as well as comfortable working directly with partners throughout each project. The ideal candidate will be organized, motivated and excited to help with projects reaching the entire DU community.

This is a non-benefited position not to exceed 1,000 hours in a calendar year.

Essential Functions

Work with Engagement Marketing team and project stakeholders in developing campaign strategy and developing assets supporting finalized goals and objectives.
Accomplish the bulk of the technical tasks related to pre-production, production, and post-production, including scheduling, project management, file distribution, technical troubleshooting, etc.
Transport, set up, and operate various production equipment including cameras, audio and video recorders, lighting equipment, props and microphones for location and studio production.
Work with project team and interviewees to successfully execute and incorporate virtual interviews into high quality videos.
Attend University of Denver events as needed to capture event footage and interviews to be used in follow-up and future campaigns.
Conduct interviews during shooting when necessary or assign appropriate team member or stakeholder to conduct interviews based on project during pre-production.
Work with Associate Director of Creative Services and Web Development to ensure university brand standards are being followed for all assets. Also work with supervisor to ensure that all stakeholder feedback is incorporated into each version before being shared with the project team.
Work closely with the Director of Engagement Marketing to ensure projects are being prioritized appropriately based on overall Advancement goals.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Creative thinker with experience in all stages of video production
Experience successfully setting up and tearing down production equipment
Outstanding attention to detail and commitment to quality
Ability to work independently and directly with internal and external partners throughout projects
Expertise in Adobe Creative Cloud (Premiere, After Effects, Photoshop, Lightroom, etc.)
Ability to cut shots during post-production based on project needs (social videos, stills, GIFs, etc.)
Ability to storyboard and prepare scripts during pre-production
Ability to prep interviewees or video subjects before and during shoots

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience
2 years of video production experience, including all stages
Project management experience

Preferred Qualifications

2 years of photography experience

Working Environment

Standard office environment
Noise level is quiet to moderate

Physical Activities

Ability to sit in front of a computer for an extended period
Must be willing and able to travel between multiple buildings across campus, and to move computer hardware from building to building with assistance (occasionally up to 50lb)

Hourly Range

The hourly range for this position is $26-27.

The University of Denver has provided a compensation range that represents its good faith estimate of what the University may pay for the position at the time of posting. The University may ultimately pay more or less than the posted compensation range. The salary offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal salary equity considerations, and available market information, but not based on a candidate’s sex or any other protected status.
