The U.S. Center for SafeSport is a nonprofit organization focused on ending all forms of abuse in sport. We endeavor to make athlete well-being the centerpiece of the nation’s sports culture through abuse prevention, education, and accountability.

JOB SUMMARY

The U.S. Center for SafeSport (“Center”) is seeking a freelance video editor to edit and produce video content for educational and outreach initiatives. The incumbent will work within the Marketing & Communications team and support the Center’s mission by developing long- and short-form video content to expand the visual assets supporting the Center’s projects and initiatives.

As a passionate and skilled creator, you strive to make each video your best, no matter the subject material. Projects will range from editing educational video courses to social media and brand content to internal communication videos that amplifies the Center's mission while engaging and inspiring audiences.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Ingest and assemble footage from productions
Edit videos focused on guiding audiences through complex information that is captivating, digestible, and impactful
Collaborate with Marketing & Communications team and cross-functional content teams to ensure consistent message
Work closely with the communications, marketing, and creative production teams to develop creative solutions and deliver edited content ready for distribution for multiple channels in a timely manner
Other duties to support production distribution as required

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree in visual arts, film and television, film production, or related field
Minimum three (3) years experience editing long- and short-form video for various audiences and media platforms
Great sense of rhythm and pacing that balances images, dialogue, and music
Proficient in editing software, including Adobe Premiere Pro, Media Encoder, Audition, and basic After Effects
Experience working with Premiere motion effects and motion graphics templates
Understands color correction/grading and audio mixing/mastering
Team player with excellent multitasking and time management abilities
Excellent problem-solving skills to get the task done
Passion for keeping up with the ever-changing ways of visual storytelling
Must have video editing reel or portfolio that showcases diverse work
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Power Point, and Excel

Preferred, But Not Required

Experience editing educational or instructional content
Previous work in film either narrative or documentary
Ability to shoot original video content and record audio

Evolves with video trends to keep graphic content engaging and relevant; provide recommendations on trending topics, products and best practices
Strong organization skills and highly detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple projects with efficiency and minor supervision
Ability to function well in a fast-paced environment under tight deadlines
Superior written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
Personal qualities of integrity, credibility, initiative, and a commitment to the Center’s mission

WORK REQUIREMENTS & ENVIRONMENT

Standard office equipment
Remote work available
Some night and weekend work hours

WORK LOCATION

SALARY AND BENEFITS

$25–30/hour
