JOB FUNCTION/PURPOSE:

This position is responsible for defining a voice for each of our brands and work with us to generate engaging and informative content that will be featured on different platforms, ranging from but not limited to social media, websites, and sales collateral. Looking at someone part-time to eventually be full-time.

The copywriter will be responsible for brainstorming, concepting, and implementing fresh, engaging ideas and leading all copywriting-related tasks, including but not limited to work to improve creative, marketing, and public relations initiatives; and also support internal marketing projects as needed.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Support the creative team in the implementation of client deliverables
• Create outstanding copy for various marketing communications
• Participate in concept development & brainstorming sessions
• Understand & apply a brand’s voice to all communication materials
• Executive quality integrated copy against strategic business objectives

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Knowledge:

• A strategic thinker with a track record of developing diverse concepts and messaging across channels (headlines, tag-lines, pitches, scripts, blog-posts, social content, emails, etc)

2. Skills and Abilities:

• Strong communication skills
• Ability to develop and explain the marketing strategy
• Ability to collaborate at a fast pace with other members of the creative and account team along with clients
• Ability and willingness to edit and improve other people’s writing
• Strong presentation skills
• Proof-reading skills
• Ability to persuade, inform and take criticism from clients, while maintaining agency standards and strategic point-of-view
• A commitment to constant learning, seeking challenges and embracing collaboration
• Ability to incorporate feedback and take/give direction well

3. Education:

• Bachelors degree in Communications with focus in advertising or similar degree

4. Experience:

• 3–5 years of experience as a professional copywriter, ideally at an agency
• A strong portfolio that demonstrates a range of work including brand and campaign concepts as well as channel execution
• Experience in developing brand voices from the ground up making sure it has an own-able brand voice, tone, and personality
