Description

The Copywriter is an experienced creative who thrives in a fast-paced environment. You are known for turning strategy and insights into clever, conversational copy for a variety of channels. You’re comfortable with short and long-form writing, crafting strong headlines and engaging content. You’re also a self-learner and student of culture, beauty, lifestyle and retail trends. This role reports into the Senior Copywriter.

Key Responsibilities
- Master the brand voice across all channels. Exhibit mastery of the oVertone voice by writing engaging copy that communicates marketing messages primarily for ad-based copy while also writing for e-commerce/website, email, SMS, paid media, print, and any other copy as needed.
- Collaborate with cross-functional partners, including the growth and creative teams to evolve and communicate an understanding of what messages work with different consumer segments and why, via case studies, post-launch content analysis, and social reporting tools
- Brainstorm and concept with designers and cross-functional partners across departments
- Pitch and articulate ideas to stakeholders, up to an executive level
- Self-manage projects and workflows, working independently and as part of a team
- Route all creative to the appropriate team member(s) and apply feedback and edits in a timely manner
- Stay abreast of the skincare and beauty trends – explore ideas of latest ingredients, trends, and news
- Partner with the Design team to ensure copy is accurately flowed into design and finds integrated visual/copy solutions
- Take ownership of deadlines and follows project schedules and updates
- Contribute to and update style guides and forthcoming editorial calendars

Skills & Qualifications
- 2+ years of copywriting experience that encompasses digital, interactive, blog, marketing, and brand
- Extensive experience with e-comm and digital/social marketing. Must have a strong understanding of how digital experiences should look, feel and work
- Excellent project management and organization skills: self-directed and capable of working effectively in a fast-paced environment while juggling multiple projects and adhering to tight deadlines
- Welcomes constructive criticism with an open mind, always seeking to improve work
- Demonstrated ability to execute projects on time and to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Must have a positive can-do attitude, with a genuine, reliable and kind disposition
- Must be professional team-player, flexible, positive, engaged, responsible, creative and willing to continually learn, and be seen as a leader on the creative team
- Must have strong and concise verbal and written communication skills
- Self-starter with pro-active critical thinking skills and the ability to take initiative, anticipate next steps and offer recommendations and solutions
- Must be organized and highly detail-oriented, double-checking work with unprompted follow-ups
- Takes ownership of personal actions and outcomes and encourages and empowers others to do the same
- Drives change; demonstrates adaptability and fosters an environment that encourages open-mindedness and flexibility in the face of ambiguity and change
- Creates strong and effective internal partnerships and collaborates across the Company; listens and values the opinions of others

Hours:
- 24 hours per week (overtime as necessary)
