Job Description

Position Title: Multimedia Specialist
FLSA Status: Part-time hourly, non-exempt (25 hours per week), Non-Benefitted
Hourly rate: $25 / hour
Position Reports to: Director of Communications and Audience Services

The Role of the Multimedia Specialist
This position is engaged in various elements of the multimedia studio function including, but not limited to, camera operation, media direction, media post production, audio and video engineering, equipment transport/set-up/strike, equipment maintenance and repair.

Team Dynamics
This position works with a small team of communications professionals made up of the Director of Communications and Audience Services, Digital Communications Manager, Creative Content Coordinator, and Content Writer. With a coordinated and fast-paced approach, this team strategically collaborates to create content that furthers the organization’s mission. The communications team exists within a larger Advancement department that includes Audience Services staff, the Development team, and ACES/event rentals staff.

Primary Duties
The primary duties of the Multimedia Specialist include, but are not limited to, the following:
● Conceive, create, and edit original video content that promotes, educates, advertises, and persuades audiences.
o Operate multimedia equipment for interviews, b-roll captures, and other shoots.
o Communicate effectively and professionally as needed with clients, while under close supervision.
● Assist in execution of live streaming events
o Set up and configure various spaces for live recordings, including equipment transport, set-up, operation and strike.
● Adhere to organizational brand guidelines in all content
● Collaborate with communications staff to ensure that content is immaculate and free of errors.
● Manage milestones of projects from conception to completion.
● Assist in maintenance of digital archives.
● Collaborate with communications staff in monitoring success and engagement of deployed content, evaluate successes and adjust content accordingly.
● Establish and maintain positive, collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
● Be available and willing to perform other tasks as assigned by the direct supervisor.

Qualifications
The successful Multimedia Specialist candidate will have the following experience and attributes:
● Bachelor’s degree or equivalent knowledge, skills, experience, and abilities in a related field are required.
● Professional video production experience required.
● A collaborative and good natured demeanor that allows for positive working relationships.
● Ability to work with diverse populations in a multi-cultural environment that is committed to diversity and inclusion.
● Ability to support multiple projects simultaneously while effectively managing time and prioritizing tasks.
● Superior writing skills, including the ability to craft, proofread, and edit persuasive content.
● Sense of humor and ability to accept and learn from feedback, experiences, and mistakes.
● A love and appreciation for the arts and humanities is a plus.
