“We are a team of creatives who guide passionate brands.” That is 970 Design's mission statement, and we're looking for someone who feels called to it to join our team as a contract web designer. 970 Design is seven years old and serves a number of Vail's most prestigious companies, as well as an impressive client list from LA to NYC. We have numerous award-winning designs, and multiple exciting projects in the works (See our website for details). As we continue to grow, we're in need of someone who possesses powerful artistic vision and expresses out-of-the-box creativity; works well both independently and on a team; drives deliverables forward and takes on ownership of projects; proactively overcomes roadblocks and drives toward deadlines; follows through aggressively; double and triple checks work obsessively; communicates articulately; holds in their minds the big picture of the company and the brand; and has a deep love of being creative and loves being around the same.
So what will you be doing?
Be hands on from design through execution of website projects
Discovery, Information Architecture Flowchart, Website Design, Design to Dev, Quality Control, Oversight of website project from Discovery to Launch with help of creative director, producer, account manager, and web developer.
Front end website design
Website Population
Meetings with team and clients at articulated milestones
You will need these skills:
•Ninja Graphic Design Skills
•A love for serving clients and making them feel like they are our only client
•Punctuality and deadline follow-through
•Proficient in color theory, composition and typography
•Understanding of web grid systems and how to design for web development and user experience
•Ability to design and prototype in XD
Required Qualifications:
•Bachelor’s Degree in Design, Marketing, or other relevant field
•3+ years professional experience in graphic/digital arts,
with an agency or in-house
•Working knowledge of web-design best practices, and a basic knowledge of UI/UX
•Software Skills: must be fluent in Adobe Creative Suite applications,
a web-design/prototyping software such as XD or Sketch; must be proficient in Microsoft •Excel and on Mac OS X; any experience with Lightroom, Photoshop, and Acrobat is a plus.
•Experience with different CMS, particularly Wordpress and Drupal
Additional skills that could give you an edge:
•Experience with Invision
•Passion for marketing, and all things web and design
•Proven communication and collaboration skills
•You get that it isn’t about you, it's about the client and their needs
When?
This position is a project contract basis. Typical sites take 4-7 months from discovery to launch.
