Position:
iDE is an international nonprofit dedicated to combating poverty in the developing world not through handouts, but by helping rural households access the tools and knowledge they need to increase their income and improve their health and well-being. iDE has 30 years of experience and programs in 11 countries in Africa, South Asia, South East Asia, and Central America.

IDE's vision, to catalyze the power of entrepreneurship to allow 20 million people to lift themselves out of poverty by 2020, is ambitious and bold. We need a person who is, first and foremost, passionate about this vision and wants to harness the power of digital media to help iDE achieve it.
We are looking for an organized and detail-oriented professional to support the Communications team with digital outreach. The ideal candidate has a zest for engaging with social media and an unending curiosity to discover new and creative ways of doing things. This candidate will have a gut instinct for what people want to read, why they hit the “like” button and why they share online. This individual is able to take a big vision and devise a strategy and timeline to execute that vision in the digital space.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Strategy
Observe our target profiles’ online behavior. Audit relevant social channels, and understand the communication norms and styles within each audience segment.
Collaborate with Communications, and bring new ideas to the table, to create a strategy for using social media to reach our audiences with key messages.
Devise an annual calendar of activities designed to educate, inspire, and attract new followers.

Execution
Grow our social and digital presence and engage audiences in dynamic, fun, professional and consistent dialogue.
Write new content and adapt existing content created by Communications and others for daily dissemination through appropriate social platforms.
Work as a team to create periodic digital campaigns for key audiences.
Collaborate with the Communications team on email marketing, including list segmentation, content curation, writing new content, and analytics.
Curation and organization of iDE photos and stories in Smugmug and spreadsheet

Metrics
Develop a monthly analytics report that indicates progress towards goals (ie: # of followers, number of clicks on posts, email open rates, etc). Use analytics to inspire new tactics and refine existing ones.

Qualifications:
Clear, concise, compelling writing for the digital space
Associate’s Degree in Communications, Marketing, or related field
2-4 years of experience in a communications, public relations, or a relevant role
Experience managing and executing across several social media channels
Graphic design skills a plus
Fluent in English. Second language that’s used in an area where we work is a plus.

Software Fluency Required:
CRM database management, such as Salesforce
Email marketing platforms, such as Pardot
Google Analytics and Google Adwords
Social Channels: Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIN, Instagram, Youtube, Hootsuite
Digital Platforms: CMS (Craft or similar), Blog/Curation platforms (such as Medium and Exposure)
HTML and CSS is a plus
Google Suite: Drive, Docs, Slides, Sheets, Forms, Sites, Mail
Adobe Photoshop
Microsoft Office: Word and Excel
