Austin Lawrence is an award winning composer who has successfully worked with film makers from all over the world including the New York Film Academy - Universal Studios, Los Angeles, London, Toronto, Colorado Film School and more. Austin is a completely self-taught composer with music experience in guitar, violin and piano. Becoming so immersed in music, Austin has developed his own music theory by combining color, psychology and music. He has applied this theory into his film scoring to win Best Original Score at the A3F Film Festival and First Place Audio Artistry Winner for the HAWX Trailer Re-score Competition.

The itchy-O Marching Band (IOMB) is a Denver-based percussion-centered electronic marching band and the mobile arm of the experimental film/music troupe itchy-O. itchy-O brings a sophisticatedly savage sound and the sheer ecstasy of instruments untethered and running free. With a driving drum corp complemented by an arsenal of electronics including synthesizers, theremin, vocoders, and many other special devices, the IOMB completely engulfs and immerses an audience from every angle in a pounding electric bog of music, ephemera and spectacle. The unidentifiable IOMB is waging war on predictable mediocrity with their guerrilla-style performances which feature an artfully hazardous Chinese lion, sensuous dancing twin apparitions, fog, strobes, sequins, sweat and fury. itchy-O has been featured on Colordao Public Radio, performed for the Biennial of the Americas Kick-off Party, Denver’s Underground Music Showcase, Westword’s Artopia, conferences such as Adobe’s Effective UI, and other festivals and launch parties. They’ve opened for DEVO, The Melvins, March Fourth, the Extra Action Marching Band, the Warlock Pinchers and headlined many other shows.

I am an accomplished musician, wanting to explore new paths for my music. I am 21 years old, have played for 17 years, and have studied with various conservatories and colleges. I work at the School of Rock, located in central Denver. I teach piano/keyboard, as well as direct multi-student groups to perform cover shows in front of an audience. I write all forms of music, from classically-based pieces, to jazz, to rock/metal, to hip hop. I work well within criteria/boundaries, having written everything from short interludes to entire albums that need keyboards, all for other people's music.
