I am a recent college graduate from the University of South Dakota and I am ready to move onto something new and exciting in terms of a job and city/state! Artist Statement: I am drawn to tattered edges, shadows of understanding. I am compelled to investigate with care and wonder, letting life and our perception thereof leave it’s imprint on me on me like light leaves an imprint on film and creates an image. I explore ideas of identity through different avenues and mediums: subculture, sexuality, personal relationships, and memory. I find joy and solace; catharsis, in the exploration of self and my surroundings and how those interact, letting these things seep out of my pores and capturing them with my lens, building them into the viewers surroundings. I am drawn to details, to the things that aren’t always seen by the casual observer. I try to dig deep into events and ideas, invade their space, look into the uncomfortable spaces and bring light to them. I try to capture intimate moments: the private, the awkward, the painful, the absolute joy, the mundane, the real. I believe there is beauty in truth, but there are many truths. I can only tell my truth and in doing so hope that I can produce work that visually fills these empty spaces in our mutual human experiences. My name is Eric Magnussen, I received a BFA in studio arts(emphasis in photography) in 2003 from CU Boulder. More recently, my love of photography led me to Orange County, CA for a photo editor position at Boost Mobile a prepaid cell-phone division of Sprint/Nextel. At Boost Mobile my duties evolved rapidly over the last four and a half years, affording me a wide range of challenging opportunities. I am an adaptable “Jack-of-all-trades” - in the van, in the cubicle and from print to web. I am a well-rounded photographer comfortable in-studio or on-location with advanced retouching skills, well versed in adobe photoshop and illustrator. I have also worked closely with Boost Mobile’s team manager and athletes promoting the brand and individual athletes with tour and event documentation, blogging, media relations, photoshoot planning and execution. I have managed ad schedules, photo acquisition budgets and expense accounts. Matt Angiono is an award-winning landscape/nature photographer with a true passion for finding that “epic light,” created only by the perfect combination of natural elements. Born in the mountains of Colorado in May 1983, I spent much of my youth outdoors rock climbing and hiking in the Rocky Mountains. My love for nature and the environment, as well as my interest in people and culture, is center to my photography. I am interested in photographing environmental and social issues and the effects this has on people and communities living with the land. My goal is to learn and share stories about the co-habitation of people and their land. My travels have taken me throughout Mexico, Cuba, Nicaragua, Bolivia, Italy, Israel, Jordan and Egypt.
