A hard-working self-starter, I am an enthusiastic team player who is excited about contributing to your Media department. I currently work as the Production Coordinator for an internal resource at Booz Allen Hamilton. I have an extensive background in production that ranges from shooting on various formats (tape and tapeless), editing (FCP and Avid), Audio recording and sweetening (ProTools) and motion design (After Effects). At my core I am a problem solver, and I leverage my creative background to address the needs of the client and help them realize their own vision. Currently I manage a team of video professionals that tackles a plethora of deadline-driven challenges presented by our internal clients. On any given day, I might write copy, run a camera, be audio talent, create an animation, encode media for the web, design and author a DVD, leverage external resources to cover a last minute shoot, develop a complicated budget estimate, or meet with a variety of clients. I manage milestones and costs for multiple projects. My functional expertise in production enables me to deliver projects that are professionally polished, under budget and on time. Previous Clients Include: US Army Environmental Command | Booz Allen Hamilton | EPA | NSA | US Navy | Cerebellum Corp | US Postal Service | PBS

All it took was a coloring book and crayons for me to realize my passion for the graphic arts. At Cherry Creek High School in Denver I put my focus into drawing and painting and, with the help of my art instructors, developed a portfolio that would get me accepted into Rocky Mountain College of Art and Design in Denver in 1998. After graduating in 2002 with a BFA in Illustration, I spent the next year doing odd freelance jobs, creating graphics and signage for various snowboard and skateboard shops while painting on the side. In ’03 I decided to spread my creative wings a bit and moved myself to the city by the bay. In San Francisco, I spent six years producing freelance graphics for local business’ ranging from internet security to educational institutions, as well as showing work at galleries like 111 Minna and the Artist Xchange. In Spring of ’08 I enrolled at City College of San Francisco where I earned a certificate in Flash Development. Upon completion, I immediately obtained a job in Monterey, California creating interactive programs for online foreign language programs. Through all my experience I have obtained a sound process for creating spectacular, proven results. I do this by blending digital contemporary techniques and standards with classic style and traditions that result in unique and exciting experiences for my users.

Eric Bakst

After graduating with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Filmmaking from the University of Colorado at Boulder, Eric began building a solid reputation in the film and video industry. Eric has since produced and edited five consecutive Powder Video Awards shows and has traveled extensively producing, filming, and editing skiing and snowboarding content for the US Freeskiing series, The North Face Masters of Snowboarding, The Honda ski Tour and many other live events and concerts. Hans Damkoehler

I’ve been working in video production for 15 years. I’ve done it all from 18 hour days PA’ing multiple shoots on the big lots of Universal East and West, casting, acting, writing, producing, directing, shooting, editing (of course,) and I’ve even written the musical scores for a few videos and stage plays. I’ve been editing professionally now for over 10 years. I typically cut in Final Cut Pro but am equally as fluent on an Avid. Need it cut with Media Composer? No problem. In addition to editing I am strong in writing/producing, audio, DVD authoring and design, compression, and I can even do your graphics. Having worked as a writer/producer I can bring a line of thinking to your project that will stretch from the concept stage through to the end product. I place a high value on communication in the process. I like to dialogue, have fun, and I’m even open to suggestions … not always the easiest trait to find when looking for an Editor! I’m easy to work with. I think you will find that not only do you receive a superior product, but you will also thoroughly enjoy the experience. Currently I freelance and am the principal editor/producer with VideoBloom, Inc.

Jeff Pugel

A media planner/buyer with 13 years experience across New York City (Mediaedge:cia, MPG, Mindshare) and Denver (McClain Finlon, Thayer Media) agencies as well as buy side experience as a media sales rep. For me it's just not about doing the status quo as we all know that that won't cut it today. Rather I look at the problem, or opportunity, at hand and figure out how to connect a client's business with their target audience in a way that get results, even if it means doing things in a bit of a non-traditional way which is often what is required today if one is to succeed.

Jeffrey Vier

Ad / Marketing / PR / Creative After spending the past year of my professional life in Manhattan working in the industry of Ad Buying, I've been able to take a closer look at where my interests and excitement in the media world truly lie. Working on sponsorships with Sears and Kmart and creating write-ups for new in-show ad buying opportunities sparked a excited interest in Marketing and all of the creative elements that going go into the development of the perfect model and mix. I have a great interest in both the nontraditional approaches to marketing / cross-marketing as well as the advances in digital and the targeting of redirected consumers via the internet. These are two aspects I find that work hand in hand and I would like to know and learn as much as possible about. Jen Waters

Like any good Gen Yer, I went through a quarter-life crisis after my first year as a "young professional". I was an accountant at a Fortune 500 insurance company. When I introduced myself to people I actually made a point to say "But I promise I'm not boring!" So I decided to go back to school to put my suppressed creativity to work. What started as a Masters in Writing, Rhetoric, and Discourse (high hopes of becoming a freelance writer for the Wall Street Journal) became a Masters in New Media Studies specializing in online content when I realized that the future is online. So I am in transition. Working full time as a accountant at a small company in Chicago, interning part time at a study abroad non-profit doing web marketing and website maintenance, and going to grad school full time to graduate in June 2010. After graduation, I'm bound for the Mile High City to add some fresh air and hiking to my life. Boring I shall never be again!

Michael Collins

As far as my background, I started out on stage in Chicago (Second City, sketch comedy) and then moved to L.A. where I continued comedy, but also acted in commercials and independent projects. Along with performing, I started writing and producing short form, comedic content. In a 180 degree turn, I moved to Steamboat to host and produce content for TV18 (an Outside Television affiliate). That was a fast moving operation where I learned how to shoot (Panasonic HVX200) and edit (FCP) quickly. I was involved with writing, producing, directing and editing half hour and hour long shows such as Savor Steamboat, Explore Steamboat and Steamboat Today. I decided to move back to Denver as a freelance video producer and I continue to work with Outside Television as a host for one of their national shows, The Buzz. Along with video production, I implement social marketing efforts for my clients. It's a natural fit for a lot of small businesses.

Mike Dirnberger

In my work as a cinematic artist, I develop focusing on moments that bond these individuals together. In the realm of story I work at focusing not on the now of our reality, but rather, a finite setting of rules that bind the characters to their habits and life. There is no now because these are the figment of the imagination of the story and the audience. Giving subtle shifts in development I work at caressing emotion from the viewership by using lighting, sound, color, wardrobe, dialogue, and character traits. Moving the inner magic of the audience’s awareness beyond ordinary and into the unremarkably fantastical. In this, the characters grow within the parameters of the everyday, and become icons, carrying the weight of not only their actions, but those of all that they represent. These talismans of ideas, actions, social criticisms, and attributes of existence make my work relatable. In these contexts I aim for naturalism above the actions of the everyday. Not working at glorifying the ordinary, but rather attributing strength on the inner self of the characters. I give these individuals situations to handle and define them by their actions as one would be defined outside of film. I want to challenge the audience to understand and come to terms with ideas or conflicts that may be within themselves. In giving this experience of life and the shared story there is a bond that can mature between the screen and audience, here lies the spirit of my art, for the story and journey of the audience is carried past the screen and into their life outside.

I am familiar with and have at my disposal, Adobe Creative Suites 5, Word Press, HTML5 and CSS3, as well as Java (via Processing), Max 5 and Arduino. My interests as an artist lie in emergent properties and systems, and translating data to see if there is more there than meets the eye. I can focus on a project and will take most anything within my skill set, although I'm not afraid of a challenge.

Stephanie Auld

I am the founder of AWE Collective, a gallery/ multi-use warehouse that was founded on the principle of bringing less-sought-after, yet-highly-talented artists into one space to share each others knowledge and ideas without being consumed with what is considered “mainstream” in the art community. Attendees of the first friday events found pieces from all genres- from oil painting, to acrylics, stenciling, photography and graffiti. It is AWE Collective’s goal to open spectators’ eyes to new genres of works, and make one question what exactly defines art. I am also extremely proficient at marketing and social media. I find the power of the internet to be extraordinary and have learned to make the most of it to promote my own works as well as the work and ideas of others. I am actively seeking a position in this field at a creative firm in Denver. I am also an editorial, portrait and fine art photographer. I studied graphic/ multimedia design and am a total fontophile.

Steven Chen

Steven Shoppman

When people talk about me they often call me a traveller. On the surface that is a reasonable assessment, but I consider myself an adventurer, and more specifically on an adventure of learning. I have travelled to nearly 80 countries, led an expedition driving two trucks around the world, and managed to get myself into an interesting hodge-podge of jobs in the course of my life. After travelling all over the world, it has led me to a conclusion, wondering is much more worthwhile than wandering. At the age of 32, I spend a lot of time wondering. I wonder about what makes different cultures tick, I wonder how in the world we ever figured out how to send people into outer space, I wonder how to drive to the Arctic Circle in winter, I wonder why people have been fighting in Afghanistan for so many centuries. To me, looking for answers is much more exciting than when you actually find them, and every day that goes by gives me about 100 more questions to continue my search. Professionally I have spent a good majority of my adult life in creative fields like video production, multimedia design, photography, and writing. I have worked for myself, for non-profits, for corporations, and been a bum from time to time. National Geographic Adventure Magazine made the surprising decision to give me the honor of Adventurer of the Year in 2009 and the Polish Explorer’s festival invited me to speak at their prestigious event in 2010. Since the finale of The World by Road expedition in 2009, it has been clear to me that my path in life is one of adventure, exploration and learning. But I will stop rambling about myself and let you use the links below to learn more about me from other people’s perspectives.
