Matt Scobey is an Independent Creative living and working in Denver, Colorado. For most of his life he has been a fan of hand drawn typography, vintage signage, and freight trains. After being an artist assistant and finishing a residency in Philadelphia he headed to the Queen City where he spends his days drawing patterns, letters, and bricks. He is a founding member and partner at Bored of Directors. A small creative studio.
Matt's work has been featured in Urban Outfitters, Beautiful Decay Magazine, IdN Magazine, Next American City, FM magazine, and various Wolverine Farm publications. He has exhibited artworks in solo and group shows in Philadelphia, Denver, Miami, Chicago, NY, San Francisco and Wroclaw, Poland.
In addition to his personal art practice, Matt has worked in collaboration and contract with various brands and cultural institutions including, New Belgium, PBR, Bicycle Film Festival, Denver Art Museum, MCA Denver, BMoCA, Plus gallery, SuperOrdinary gallery, and RMCAD.
Currently seeking commission and contract work in Illustration, Art Direction, Design, and Installation. Interested in Art & Design for Print, Screen, and Environment.
