Xmas Ads Have Begun - Target Unveiled their #MyKindOfHoliday Campaign

Although Target has stated that they're going to start running their holiday ads later this year, after receiving backlash from consumers last year for starting mid-October, they have already released their first spot on youtube. Created by ad agency 72andSunny the campaign titled, "#MyKindOfHoliday" is meant to play off the energy of the spot’s song, which puts a twist on holiday traditions. The music was crafter in part by the brand's music consultan Dave Sardy, a three-time GRAMMY winner.

The campaign and hashtag are about encouraging people to share the special traditions (big and small) that they celebrate during this time of year. The work has overt social media mentions worked into the TV spots and Target has stated that they have some social activities designed to engage guests planned to release throughout the campaign, such as weekly Instagram challenges, how-to photos and videos to inspire creative gift giving, and last minute shopping tips on Twitter.
