Crash Text Dummies

A sculpture in the shape of the text shortcut "FYI," welded together from smashed car parts, is making the rounds at universities in Dubai. Created by TBWA\RAAD for Nissan, the eerie sculpture might just be the thing to get knucklehead young drivers in Dubai to chill behind the wheels. A QR code punctuates the sculpture. Scanning it takes you to a mobile site that lets you post a pre-written pledge on your social networks.

Whether it'll help lower car accidents or not remains to be seen, but our pals at The Dubai Egotist tell us the sculpture itself is mesmerizing up close. Makes you wonder about the people that were once in those cars. More sculptures are apparently in the works.

The sculptures look very well done and is an effective way to portray an important message. Even though the success of the campaign remains to be seen, I think the concept is strong and will make people think.
