Flailing Brands: Boston Mayor Buries Chick-Fil-A Further in the Dirt

On the heels of Chick-fil-A President Dan Cathy's controversial public comments against same-sex marriage, Boston Mayor Thomas Menino fired off a letter to Cathy, urging him to abandon plans to expand the fast food chain to his city. The City of Chicago also just blocked their expansion...

As John Stewart put it, "You know it's bad when Boston thinks you're an a**hole."

So ironic since Boston is one of the most racist cities in the country.

Please, God, don't let the owners of In n' Out come out against gay marriage.

I don't know what this hoopla is all about. Have you ever had Chick-fil-a? I would do bad things for some chicken biscuits...

I'm sure they buy and sell only Hazel's Beverges and Izzy local Bouldernuts.

It is the first time I'm proud[of not being a phat bitch who eats].

Wasn't this taken out of context? Also, who gives a shit?

Totally pro Chick-Fil-A. They have the right to their own opinion. More delicious food for us.

So, government officials are dictating who can have a business in their city based on someones particular belief or opinion? So much for Free Speech! As advertisers and marketers this is very dangerous grounds we are allowing the government to get into and dictate.

^^^^ I agree with this person

No where in that letter did the mayor say he was banning or would not allow them to expand to his city. It's a threat on principle that he has no way to stop. I wish more politicians would stand up to corporations especially when it come to patriotism and freedom.

Anybody that advertises chicken with a cow costume character is most rightgeous in my book.

right on tosh

The mayor in Boston is not representing patriotism or freedom. He only represents intolerance of another person's opinion. I thought we were supposed to be a more tolerant society...
