If Only Young Creatives Came with a Money Back Guarantee

Now, they do – via this infomercial-style promo from new-grad creative team Jason Burke and Soo Kim that peddles their wares. Would it make you more likely to hire them knowing you could fire them without pay in 30 days? Betcha someone takes them up on it.

This brings to mind the age old debate over the true value of spec work. I took a look at their site and it looks like they're applying for full-time positions rather than internships.

Also, from the perspective of a business owner, if I can get them for free for 30 days, does that mean I can pay them a lower salary if I decide to keep them on?

One of the topics I talk to a lot of new designers about is how to apply a reasonable monetary amount to their skills and work. It's difficult math, especially in an industry where we often feel forced to give away our expertise and energies for free.

Fuck these guys.

Why? It's a pretty good way to stick out as a green team.
