Even in Death, Beastie Boys' MCA Hates Advertising
"Notwithstanding anything to the contrary, in no event may my image or name or any music or any artistic property created by me be used for advertising purposes," reads a copy of Adam Yauch's will, filed on Tuesday in Manhattan Surrogate court and obtained by Rolling Stone. Respectable, considering how ruthless we are at ruining good music by putting it in bad advertising.

Not at all surprised. I have a hard time finding anyone outside our industry that likes advertising; no matter how brilliant, unique, etc.
As someone who works in digital advertising I find this wonderful... not all art needs to be pilfered for Duracell commercials. Long live MCA!
@Rand Man, that's the sad truth.
There are plenty of people inside our industry who hate advertising too. I sometimes pray to the 30 second skip button on my DVR.
Good for him. The Dead Kennedys had the same problem, with all members alive. And, there were plenty of ad people at the Adbusters event here many years ago, myself included. What a mess.
