There's Hope for Small Shops Yet

/ Comments (2)

MDC Partners, the holding company that has a number of great agencies under its wing, has just added another. Our friends at Plaid in Danbury, CT (who took over our site as The Danbury Egotist way back when) have been acquired by MDC-owned Source Marketing and are now going to be called Humongo. We can't help but think, along with their great work, Plaid's ability to intelligently promote their agency (see here) had a great deal to do with getting on MDC's radar in the first place. Good things happen to small shops who wait – and work their asses off.

This is assuming that acquisition is a good thing. We want nothing to do with it. We'll stay a small shop and we like it that way.

Call me naive...but what are the benefits of getting acquired?
