Don't Listen to Resume Richard

/ Comments (0)

To promote ResumeEdge, a resume-writing service (which needs a little help with its own web presence), a new social media campaign was built around Resume Richard. Functioning as an anti-spokesman, Richard doles out terrible (albeit humorous) resume advice in a series of web videos. In only three weeks, he’s developed a loyal following on Facebook and Twitter, where he often offers up unsolicited advice to celebrities (Richard recently offered resume advice to Shaquille O’Neil after landing with his fourth team in seven years).

With unemployment at near-record highs, finding a job is competitive. Unfortunately, many job-seekers often rely on unqualified advice (like Richard’s) for help—instead of turning to the experts. The goal of the campaign is to ensure fewer people end up “listening to a Richard.”
