Bringing the Aviation Industry Back Down to Earth
Do you like cute, cuddly polar bears that’ll rip a hole in your abdomen if you come too close to them? Us too. That’s why we feel extra bad watching them drop from the stratosphere to splat like bloody sacks of potatoes in this spot.
The message? For every passenger, a short European plane flight adds the weight of a polar in greenhouse gases to the atmosphere – which presumably also kills said polar bears and other soft, extremely dangerous animals million miles away.
Nice spot, but is it really going to get people to stop flying and trade convenience for the safety of animals that only want to kill them for dinner? Agency: Mother, London. Production: Rattling Stick.

cue up the 9/11 comparisons…
there is always a difference between creating something shocking that provokes change vs creating something shocking that makes me hate the people who made it for me to watch. this spot is the latter.
