When Was the Last Time a Resume Blew You Away?

Give it a few minutes of study. Feel ashamed it’s not your idea. Then get on with updating your own.

Thanks, Michael

Damn. That’s sick.

You know, I was thinking about, whilst kicking myself in the butt for not thinking of it myself — I wonder if he could copyright this… I don’t know, as a model? It’s an invention, isn’t it? Whatever it is, it’s freaking sick.

using infographics this way is becoming more common – thanks to WIRED maybe? http://feltron.com/index.php?/content/2007_annual_report/P6/

Reminds me of the new social media campaign that creates an “anti-spokesperson” to show how the Internet is full of great (and sometimes horrible) resume advice.

This is fabulous! Yes, I wish I had thought of it. Great job.

As someone who’s in the job search market I come across a lot of articles about this kind of thing and I can never decide between being traditional or artsy.

This is one that’s definitely easier to read but he’s definitely going for a very specialized audience. I’ve heard that some larger companies with HR departments and computers that scan resumes just throw creative resumes away.

Interesting things about his resume:

His skills are listed in a pie chart – that seems like a waste! What if you are equally good at a variety of different things? Each chunk would look really insignificant when in reality they aren’t.

His peak productivity and communication hours are at midnight. That’s an odd time for a standard 8am – 6pm job..

Okay I’m done rambling. I just find this subject very interesting and I’m always looking for ways to improve.
