Led Zeppelin Remains True

Despite the success of Guitar Hero and Rock Band, you won’t see Led Zeppelin’s iconic tunes pop up in either game any time soon, according to the Wall Street Journal.

The band, specifically Zeppelin guitarist Jimmy Page, is not comfortable giving gaming companies access to the group’s master recordings – a necessary step in adding the band to any game.

As for Aerosmith, well that’s another story. Greedy bastards.

Page already sold “Rock and Roll” to Cadillac, forever ruining that song. He’s already crossed the line.

And worse still, he sold out when he let Puff Daddy destroy Kashmir for the effin’ Godzilla soundtrack. I think Guitar Hero would be a lot less of a travesty than either of those.

aerosmith has always sucked, no surprise here.

Trying to keep your music inaccessible to those who love or want to emulate it…how is that a noble character trait? It’s called pretentiousness, and he’s got a lot of it.

Let’s be honest, if Jon Bonham hadn’t choked on his own vomit, Led Zeppelin would’ve burned out and faded away like all their contemporaries. Everyone knows the key to immortality as a band is to quit at your peak (The Beatles, Zeppelin, Hendrix, Nirvana, etc.).

So lose the holier-than-thou attitude and realize you’re just another dude with a guitar and a lot of talent.

Don’t you dare rip on Aerosmith or Zeppelin! While I can’t stand Guitar Hero it will at least get some kids introduced to some quality music from the 70’s and 80’s. Much better music than the crap thats out today.

Maybe Jimmy Page should have Lauren Conrad on the Hills play “Stairway to Heaven” in her car on the show. It did wonders for Journey on Itunes!
