John McCain: Celeb

All political views aside, can you believe how bad this advertising is? Comparing Obama to Britney Spears and Paris Hilton as a celebrity? What over the hill bastard came up with this turd? Fire him.

It’s classic political BS. McCain’s events don’t have the popularity of Obama’s, so he decides to attack this as “celebrity” and turn it into a negative. Expect things to get a lot worse in the coming months. The whole electoral system in the US is such crap anyway, why does money dictate who can run for office? Tony Blair wasn’t effing uber-rich, but over here you need bags of cash to run. Maybe we should just ban all political advertising with the exception of one party political broadcast each month, running up to the election.

hi

I love Obama’s response to that ad that he made in a speech yesterday. “Is that the best you can do”. This ad is just some high school bullshit.

Funny how everyone keys into two relatively tertiary images shown while sidestepping the two key issues the ad is trying to convey – offshore drilling and higher taxes. For that alone, the ad fails. For distracting from its own key message.

As for the “comparison” itself – overblown and overhyped. A nice dodge by the obama camp, focusing in on the images to detract from addressing the issues.
