Wish Denver Had Subways

We’ve been looking to use this media for one of our projects for a long time. Submedia wanted to turn miles of dark subway walls into revenue for transit systems by putting up advertising. Based on the idea of the circular 19th century children’s toy called a Zoetrope, the system uses movement to turn a light box with static images into a motion picture outside of the train’s window. The YouTube video below is bad, but there are much better examples on Submedia’s site.

Yeah, I wish Denver had subways too. But not so I can watch ads on my way home, so I can GET HOME. Coming from the east coast this car culture thing is killing me. It’s either drive to your favorite watering hole and risk the drive back with a few in ya, take the bus which is a rolling ghetto the likes of which I’ve never seen in my life – and it takes forever to get anywhere, or call a cab and wait anywhere from 10 minutes to 2 hours. I dont know if Denver needs a subway, but it friggin needs something!
