Crispin Tries a Pepsi Challenge with Bing

/ Comments (1)

For those old enough to remember, Pepsi did a blind head-to-head taste test with Coke back in the day and (miraculously) found that Pepsi was preferred by more Americans. CP+B is trying the same tactic with Bing against Google to determine the most preferred search engine, in their Bing It On Challenge — a side-by-side search off. You can take your own version of the test on their site and compare results. The study concluded people prefer Bing search results 2 to 1 over Google. Will it make you switch?

I just took the challenge a few times, and Google always won by a good margin. Same thing happened when 4 or 5 of my coworkers tried it. It's a good idea in theory, but it doesn't work as it was intended. If I were CP+B/Bing, I'd pull this immediately.
