MADE Movement's First Client Work: A Short Film About the Dangers of Chinese Dog Treats Sponsored by BIXBI

Everybody's been wondering when Boulder's new agency MADE Movement would produce some client-based work. Well, here it is.

“Lost Dogs,” a short documentary film about the deadly effects of Chinese dog treats, was released this week. Beginning in 2008, thousands of dogs have been killed or sickened by the tainted treats, leading the FDA to issue multiple warnings. Many of the treats have been found to contain toxins such as heavy metals, melamine and chemicals used in plastics and resins like diethylene glycol. But as the film points out, it's not just the Chinese manufacturers at fault, but also the US brands sourcing the Chinese jerky, since they've done virtually nothing to get tainted treats off retail shelves.

“Lost Dogs” is sponsored by Boulder's BIXBI Pet Products, a company founded in response to the epidemic in 2008 — and one of the few manufacturers of Chicken Jerky treats sourced entirely from US chickens. It is one of the first initiatives to come out of BIXBI’s ad agency, MADE Movement — the first ever marketing agency dedicated to supporting brands and products manufactured in the USA.

As I dog person, I support this work.

And as a friend of Wyckoff and Satterfield, I wish I did it.

Nice work, MADE.

Everybody's been wondering? Funny.

Comes off a little like a bad political ad. China=scary, US=warm and fuzzy! I expected the pet treat company to come on at the end and say that they approve this message.

I know it's the whole point, but I think it tugs at the heart strings a little much. Over the top.
