Do You Have More to Say About Brian Suter?

/ Comments (3)

When things like the death of someone in our small creative community happen, it hits everyone hard. Per a suggestion from our friend Leif Steiner, we thought we wanted to offer our venue as a place to post tributes to Brian if you want to write one. Please send it to us by the end of Thursday this week and we'll post them here on Friday morning as a vigil to someone who touched a lot lives. Email it to the@denveregotist.com.

I met Brian near the end of the time I spent living in Boulder, CO. - the Fall of 2008. Having recently moved to Boulder on my own at the beginning of that summer, (all the way from Florida), I was definitely new to the "West". In such a short period of time I somehow was able to surround myself with a really diverse (and fun!) group of friends who I still remain in contact with to this day. Brian was a part of that group... a group of young professionals who had uprooted their lives from elsewhere to start their careers in Colorado. I'm not going to over-dramatize our friendship and say that we got really close or anything, but in my heart-of-hearts, I knew he was a genuine, loving, and kind soul to those in his life. He was always up for hanging out and doing things spontaneous/fun... whether it was tromping around in Boulder, or in Denver. I remember he could make me laugh in a way that was never at the expense or humiliation of someone else (which can be rare, in our young and narcissistic generation). In my experience, he had this care-free and lighthearted spirit about others, and about life... So, I was very saddened when I heard of his passing from a mutual friend. I hadn't seen him since that Fall, but we kept up with each other via Facebook. I hope that all who knew him throughout different seasons of his life will remember him at his very best... I know I will.

Oh! I forgot to mention how lovable Brian was. I think that was one characteristic he had, that drew others to him! :)

I had the pleasure of working with Brian in college. He was an amazingly happy kid and will be sorely missed. Prayers go out to him and his loved ones.
