Beautiful Photography from Benjamin Rasmussen for a Cookbook by Faroese Chef Oddvør Skarðhamar
Denver photographer Benjamin Rasmussen just sent us a lovely series of shots for a new project he's been working on. It's worth a look at the whole series.
Hi Egotist,
This summer, I was able to escape Denver’s heat for a couple of weeks and head to the Faroe Islands, a small protectorate of Denmark in the middle of the North Atlantic.
I was commissioned to make pictures for a cookbook by Faroese chef Oddvør Skarðhamar that emphasized healthy eating with local foods. The assignment was to illustrate Faroese food production, landscapes and active lifestyles.
One farmer I focused on was Sigert Patursson, who raises sheep and dairy cows on his land in the mountains above the capital city, Tórshavn. His family has farmed since the time of the Vikings and he made one thing abundantly clear: The key to a healthy, active Faroese lifestyle is a delicious leg of lamb every Sunday.
I am now back in Denver and available for assignments.
Thanks for looking,
Benjamin
