What does that mean?

It means a bunch of people will do a bunch of free work and one lucky winner will get a paltry prize, but of course credit, while a major brand gets quality work(?) and V&S laughs their way to the bank and Cabo.

It means they are getting better at making online advertisement videos for their agency. Explaining their agency, so that's good that they get their business model and are sharing.

Still better than 90% of the agencies here.

Hahaha nice thoughts Neil. Yeah, this has always made me feel empty and like it's destroying the creative industry. Its basically the same as spec work with the carrot dangling in front of your face. Why crowd sourcing if not to get your ideas for basically "free". Not saying you need a bloated staff like a lot of agencies, but why not work on the model of other creative shops and hire freelancers. That way you are still tailoring your creative to you clients needs, but you are also supporting the talent in the creative industry by paying them for their work.

Victor: The boys who laugh at your work. Except the one 'lucky' fool who gets to cash that mammoth check that amounts to about $1.73 an hour for time spent on the assignment.

Spoils: What the boys who laugh at your work get when they cash the mammoth check that amounts to about $100,000 a minute for the time they spent crowdsourcing and 'plussing the work'. Also what they boys get when the run off to Santa Monica to stay at the Viceroy while they produce those great 'agency' spots.

Here's a tip, kids: Just because he puts an extra $20 on the bedstand on his way out the door doesn't make you any less of a whore.

What if he leaves a slice of chewing gum? who doesn't like to get paid in any type of gum?

Then you'd get caught looking like a cow gum chewing whore.

The client wins and gets CP+B talent for a fraction of the price. The creatives lose, except for that one guy. If the "future" of this industry is that 1 out of 200 people are going to get paid for their work, I'm going to start building my Mad Max truck now. The reality is that this is an idea for a bad economy and will have to make a big pivot if/when things change.

I'd like to see them filter their pool a little more and really find the best creatives for a job and pay them all instead of this buckshot approach. Take 50 hand-picked creatives and offer them $200 each instead of paying just one $10,000 and not compensating the others. They can each put a few hours into it and, even if it's lower than their standard rate, no one gets screwed. You're still crowdsourcing, you're just being more ethical about it.

bigger question why are you reposting this again? we know what they are.

http://www.thedenveregotist.com/news/local/2011/february/10/lets-talk-li...

Thought we'd posted it before. Couldn't find it. This is a new version of the video.

Lame wads de ja vu it is a modified version of the last blast.

Sorry for the tremendous inconvenience.

It would be interesting to hear their reaction to a situation like this: You all at V&S as well as 50 other agencies shoot, edit, and do post on the same script from client X and then submit your end product. One of your agencies will be chosen and paid.

Agencies would be shutting their doors weekly.

Its the same situation (although with a different amount of money) in what they are asking from creatives.

If your ideas are good, get paid for them. Don't undervalue yourself

Is this reposted again? I don't remember much. I don't get your scenario? I don't get your question? Know it all, freeshies.

didn't look like anything notable changed. not inconvenient just seemed a little bias. are you going to be re-running news business pitches for every agency in town?

No. Just exactly as you want it. Recommended.

One replicated post out of 15,000+ ain't too shabby.

Do you want every post on every site sent to you to okay? Do you have time for that, while your out enjoying?

I noticed. Anybody would! Props to v&s to get the big dump on debate out of the system? Probably not, after peoples moving on and along which is always happening and going on.

Try. Try again.

Jesus. it happens once a similar repost and it's exaggerated to being done for every agency in town?

You must be the most important opinion and person here! Intown or wherever.

Didn't you say last year that everyone had paid for this enough, referring to problems online and here. When apparently you didn't pay at all being rude to it, know it all, and hiding behind it. Taking advantage to the worst ethic.

Note to all Colorado agencies: Saying that you are a dog-friendly office does not make you cool or fun to work for.

It seems like posts (and in this case, a direct re-post?) about this group of clowns always brings out the anonymous bashers and I can't figure out why. What are all you afraid of? Offending the sensibilities of a group of clowns that wouldn't pay you even if they liked you? Come on.

Difference is they edited out: ,'doing great work for the CLIENT without raping the living bejesus out of them.'

Good business decision to get work from clients?

basically they are introducing their company here(AGAIN) in this co-network of like minds and companies. Much hoop la explaining about all this misconception of that dumb god awful business modeling description is that they pull freelanced professionals for special needs from here for specific briefs as they come about. Like most companies that hire freelance, contractors, and interns.

If you don't like a company and their work steer clear as in everything else!

Their business model is as ingenious as credit default swaps.

You must be the cream of the crop applying for a register clerk?

Their video and graphics actually is really good, just a too hung up on their business model.

Trying to make a neat new explanation and term for basic business practice. Confusion. And pissing off freelancers who work hard to be comfortable and eat.
