Scrib is a Visionary, New Downtown Boulder Coworking Space
And it's designed specifically to accelerate success for entrepreneurs, freelancers and independents. Interesting. Scrib opens February 1st.
There are three packages for pricing:
1) $300 for permanent desk membership that you can call your very own (and leave your pictures of kids and dog)
2) $200 for mobile membership — that means you can use all the desks/tables that are open and move around throughout the day
3) $15 drop In gets you access to everything.
Scrib goes beyond the desks and provides access to more than 200 VCs, mentors in your field of choice and weekly workshops for education. There should be more to co-working than just free wifi and coffee.

finally something in boulder. can't wait to see it.
awww yeah. finally! a focal point for all of the energy that is boulder. cant wait. proud to be a part of it.
So proud of the guys (one is my husband, full disclosure) that had this idea and are making it happen. So many partners in the Boulder community have already stepped forward to make this a reality. It's inspring in every way.
Rapid collaboration, ability to drop-in, go legit with a conference room to meet clients, access to VC network.
What an amazing project! I am so proud of you guys. Keep up the good work.
Looks like a very cool space, and a great idea. Fun, too. I'm going to check it out.
Wonderful that there is another space in Boulder for coworking - it seems like a perfect fit for our town.
I know of at least two other spaces. The Candy Shop (http://www.candyshopboulder.com) which is also downtown near 15th and Arapahoe and Boulder Digital Arts (http://www.boulderdigitalarts.com/coworking) that is much farther east at Arapahoe and Range but that affords parking and such. They also have tons of great classes and some studio space for film/photography I think.
Hope we see even more in the future spread out in different parts of town.
I checked out your boulder digital arts link because I mistook it for communication arts.
Perhaps co- as in design communities- areas and offices are great environments to flourish design community. But renting out offices in one office space seams a little harsh to freelancers to be surrounded by like minded professionals which they usually do in affiliated clubs and groups on their own in their own vocational trade.
Harsh like making hair dressers rent their cutting station from the owner! Or retailer in a shop. Rent and agenda is entirely different than a co-environment.
Is that what scrib is? I thought they were invited potential clients into their office conference rooms to talk about ideas?
This is not a new idea, but certainly has utility in Boulder. Whoever is taking credit has obviously seen this done in NYC and other entrepreneurial hubs. Good luck, should definitely be a hit in Boulder!
There are many areas and districts known for certain types of work etc. not new or new idea. Even areas saturated with professional fields such as Denver/Boulder. What is the exact business model is that scribs intention?
Coworking isn't a new idea but it's growing about as fast as the trend of freelancers and independent workers. There are fantastic spaces in Denver (CreativeDensity), Boulder (Boulder Digital Arts), Ft. Collins (CoHere) and around the country. The camaraderie among founders of all the spaces is amazing and everyone is learning from each other.
Scrib (short for Scribble; walls are painted with dry erase paint) isn't focused on just creatives or designers. It's built for freelancers, startups and other entrepreneurs who want the benefits of collaboration, networking, access to funding, mentors and education. We created a space in Downtown Boulder that is typically unaffordable to entrepreneurs and priced it below $300/month.
And we're hoping the members continue to evolve the space and concept.
Come try it out for a day free and see what you think.
Sounds like a positive environment for individual professional designers! Especially successful for those transitioning between school and building clientele.
Attended an EduTech event hosted by Dan Carroll last night, 2/15, at the SCRiB space. Plenty of room, creative use of wall space, as you are able to write, brainstorm, innovate on the walls, and plenty of tech ready resources. Highly recommended. Cheers to the providers for creating a space that will certainly help seed the innovation in the Boulder/Denver area.
Jeff,
I stopped by your office last week and was impressed with the facilities and your operation. After viewing your video, I have a better understanding of your concept.
Sorry that I couldn't introduce myself but you were tied up in a conference. Your staff did agreat job of showing me around.
Good Luck. JW
