Fresh Meat: Joey Manin, Junior Art Director
Joey Manin is a CU ad grad with a One Show Merit, recommendations from Karsh\Hagan and Juice — where he interned — and a book and head full of ideas. He thinks laterally, conceptually and across every type of media. In other words, he'd be an asset.
We need to keep this kind of talent in Colorado, Colorado. So take a few to check out his book, read the stuff people are saying about him and consider sitting down to shake his hand in person. It's cold out there, but we don't have to be.

Mr. Manin is solid; as someone who has been in his capstone advertising class and got to see Joey work, I was more than impressed. I am surprised he hasn't be hired yet - that will likely change soon.

That's what struck me as odd, too. Not hatin', just being honest. With that said, Mr. Manin's work is very nice. No question there. But might it be wiser to work one's way up to an Art Director through years of hard work and humility?
Your stuff looks good and you have a one show merit? You'll be fine. Ignore the haters, they are confusing art directors and creative directors.
I think the Intern to Art Director thing was unintentional. On his site, Joey has a link asking agencies if they're interested in hiring a junior team.
I also think this was unintentional, because I've had the privilege of getting to know him, and he is a far cry from being labeled a prima donna. He's hungry. He has some nice work that also shows he gets digital. And he's a good guy.
It's only a matter of time, Joey. Sooner will likely happen before later.

anonymous, they weren't being haters. they were asking a legitimate question. haters criticize without merit. curious minds enquire. that's what's wrong with this site. if you criticize at all you're lumped in with the crazies who shit for shitting's sake. and if you ask a question, god forbid!
