Site Launch: Amelie Company

The work and the culture are what matter most at Denver agency Amelie. Here's how they decided to express that. It was also a fun opportunity to play with html5 / css3 / javascript and jQuery. Nice experience. Visit the site.

Really nice experience. Showcases possibly the two most important things—the outcome and the people who made it. Congrats guys.

A little bird told me that Sarah Sibley works at Cactus now. Can the interwebs confirm/deny this?

Solid work. Well done!

nice work guys. solid.

I've been looking forward to this to launch. Fantastic use of space and the most important stuff is seen right away. Good work!

Nice work Andrew and team.

Great work Gordy and team!

Good stuff Garrett and team.

Hot. But why is the work B&W while the culture is in color? Also, how 'bout a collapse button for when the expand button gets covered.

There are some limitations on the Instagram API, unfortunately, but we ending up liking how the color vs. b&w separates the two sections. Full color was a little too chaotic. Work is first, culture is second - but work is B&W whereas culture is color, it creates a nice balance. As for the expand, we wanted people to know who we are, we don't have much content on the site but want to make sure that our voice is not overlooked. Hope that answers your questions, thanks for the feedback!

i found the spinning a little tiresome and dated
is this agency named after the movie?

Dated? I've never scene this before, seems like pretty rad html5 to me. Getting tired of all the stereotypical wordpress sites that have content below a giant scrolling image3. Good job amelie!

I would trade the flipping image animation for a responsive site that had keyboard navigation controls. Overall, I'm not familiar with this agency but I do like how they approach audiences. Is it me or is all the work about transportation? Quel dommage!

i agree
the spinning feels like a bad wedding dvd/screensaver
or maybe it's just the actual spin animation itself feels flat like a bad wedding dvd/screensaver
and
maybe you aren't 'seeing this pretty rad html5' much becasue it isn't rad
and
its not quel it's c'est dommage

I liked the culture photos more when Factory did it over four years ago.

Get with the times.

Good looking site.

Doesn't work very well on a mobile device however. Mobile experience is just as important as desktop these days.
