The Mountains are Calling: New Print from John Fellows

/ Comments (4)

Denver artist John Fellows finally got around to getting some giclees made of one of his older (2010) — but still one of his favorite pieces — "The Mountains are Calling."

"It's one of the first collage style pieces I ever made. I printed the lino block around 12 times on different found paper ranging from the 1880s to today. Cut everything out, took a black marker to all the edges and then reglued all the pieces back together to get the final piece. All the "color" you see is actually the tone of the paper the block was printed on. The giclee is detailed enough that one can actually see the layers that were created when constructed. In the upper right corner is the John Muir quote "The Mountains are Calling, and I must go."

The image size is 8"x20" on a paper size of 9"x21" in an edition of 30. The stock is a natural white, acid free and archival museum quality. All prints are signed and numbered. They are available for $40 ($45 with shipping).

Shoot John an email at john@johnfellows.net if you would like one or for more info. They're gonna go quick.

This is fucking un-credible.

Thanks for the post, Egotist!

Just picked up this print a few days ago and it looks even nicer in person. Thanks for the heads up Egotist!
